A House?!
In animation there was a project that I was not expecting In the course. I also felt like it was the most difficult and least exiting project. At first I didn't really why building a digital house ties into animation. Later after some explanation and working I started to under stand why.
The Process
To make a house we had to pick a house on houseplans.com and build it on sketchup. The process was hard because I felt like we kinda had to wing it. The only directions we got was how to make the base of the house, basics of sketch and make a different kind of mirror. Although I think problem solving like we had to do helped us better in the long run than actually being taught on making every single detail. To color it we had to get a seamless texture off of online. For me I ended up trying multiple textures because they usually looked very diffrent than the picture when I put it into sketchup. The texture I ended up choosing looked very pleasing and accurate.
Finished product
When I first started the project I knew I was gonna suck, and I gotta admit.....I was right. I had troubles making the shapes even and properly proportions. At the end my house was very poorly proportioned and kinda lop sided. Even though there was a lot of downfalls there was some good things to like the paint job. I also really liked my doorway entrance. Even though this project was a huge challenge I have gained a lot of knowledge.
